Hi! I’m Ishaan.

Saratoga public schools shaped me from K–12, and I am proud to be an LGSUHSD graduate. In second grade, I was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder; thanks to dedicated teachers and a strong IEP in our district, I learned to self-manage the impact of my disability. I firmly believe that with the right support, every student can thrive.

I earned my B.A. in Public Affairs at UCLA and have dedicated my career to educational advocacy. Professionally, I represent families navigating disability rights, inclusion, and student support systems, ensuring every child receives the tailored support they need to succeed.

I recently decided to pursue a law degree part-time at Santa Clara University School of Law as a Public Interest J.D. candidate specializing in Education and Youth Law. In addition, I serve on the board of Street Law, Inc., where I help deliver accessible legal education to youth across our community.

I am running to bring a unique perspective to our school board: the voice of a former student, an expert in education law, and a dedicated advocate for students and families. I would be honored to have your vote.

My goals as your Trustee

1. Equip Students for Adult Life

While LGSUHSD achieves strong academic outcomes, including a 96% graduation rate, our schools must prepare students for real-world independence.

  • Integrate essential coursework in personal finance, media literacy, career strategies, and independent living skills.

  • Ensure every graduate leaves with concrete tools for higher education, career exploration, and adult decision-making.

2. Prioritize Proactive Student Wellness

Student wellness must be a proactive, campus-wide strategy rather than an emergency measure deployed only during a crisis.

  • Expand mental health outreach and executive functioning workshops before academic stress peaks.

  • Bridge academic counseling and mental health services to support the whole student across both campuses.

3. Strengthen Board Integrity & Fiscal Stewardship

Effective governance relies on open communication, thoughtful financial management, and active community trust in every board decision.

  • Keep the board fiscally responsible and ensure tax dollars directly support classrooms, competitive compensation for teachers, and student programs.

  • I will champion a formal Code of Ethics for the LGSUHSD board to reinforce clear standards, maintain high governance practices, and keep ethics at the forefront of our district.

  • Foster open discussion on major policy and budget decisions so parents, staff, and community members stay informed and involved.
